In preparation for our Durango Nature Center field trip, a teacher from the center came to our classroom to pre-teach animal adaptation concepts. She brought animal pelts and skulls for our little scientists to observe and collect clues while trying to determine the animal name. We discussed carnivores, omnivores and herbivores as well as the habitat of the nature center.
