2nd graders should have addition facts +0 - +10 mastered, but we are doing a quick check before moving onto subtraction. I tested students Friday and realized my littles need a bit of a kick start from summer vacation! Refer to the green data sheet in your child's take home folder to see their progress. I tested +0-+4 and will continue testing this week, we ran out of time. As children pass their addition facts, they will move onto subtraction facts. A super quick "count on" is allowed if needed (for example: 9+5; say the larger number aloud and count on to 14). Strategies to help your child learn their facts: flash cards, apps which quiz facts, write and rewrite addition problems, addition puzzles or use Uno or playing cards to randomly select numbers to add. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!
